Don't create a superhero character. You aren't the strongest/smartest/whatever wizard of all time. You also did not defeat Voldemort; furthermore, you aren't Voldemort. I encourage creative characters, and of course your character will be very good at some things, but not everything. Make your character balanced; super-hero characters make for boring role-playing.
Please try and stick to the spirit of the books. You can't just magically morph into an elf or suddenly be teleported into some different world etc. Remember, most of you are students.
Remember, you control only YOUR character. You cannot post that someone else's character did something or said something without having that player's permission beforehand. This includes impersonating another character!!

You cannot be anyone from the books, their child, their parent, OR related to them.
No harassing people in character (IC) or out of character (OOC).

Posting URLs to other sites is not allowed in RPing. Please go to the FFAL page right at the bottom of the page where you can post your links and view the links of others.
You are not allowed to find a dead body or kill/maim another character. Exceptions when the plot has set it up so you can.
Only humans allowed (for character race).
You do not have, nor will you find or create artifacts.
You cannot "outspell" a professor. The professor's word is ALWAYS Final.
You are not allowed to have Potter anywhere in your character's name, nor are you related to him in anyway. This school takes place when he is just a small child!
Most importantly, be creative and have fun.

How to play this RPG
In this RPG most of the actions that you do will be done through me, Dumbledore. Some of the actions you can do for example are role-play (which will get you rewards), buy something, explore, take classes, practice flying, or just sit and do your homework. You must be realistic though, if you are at Hogwarts you cannot buy the new broom from Diagon Ally. Email me and as your headmaster I am sure I could find some way to get you there. On the Items page there will be a list of what items you can get, where you can get them, and a general description. You will buy the items with Gallons and Sickles, not with Knuts. As for classes each Proffesor will have a different method of teaching and homework. I will be teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts class. I will give you homework, an example being, "Now class, for homework I want you to write me a one and a half rolls of parchment (150 words) long essay on the contributors to a successful 'Riddiculus' spell." Even if I do it like this there is no guarantee that Professor Snape will. Sign up for classes by emailing me or the professor of that class.
